A day at Eden Nature Park

It's quite a while since my last post. There were few exciting things that happened days ago and was too busy to share through blog post. Anyway, I think it's such a shame not to let others see what I saw and enjoyed. One event was when we went to one of Davao's best, Eden Nature's Park.

It was January 8, 2012, Sunday. We had made lots of planning before that, we had options like different beaches in Samal, go diving, snorkeling and so others. But for a change, we decided to go nature tripping. We're all from Davao, but contrary to what is expected to all DavaoeƱo , most of us weren't able to visit Eden just yet.

So there we went, together with few friends and their family members, we rented a van and driver along with it for our transport.

When we arrived, we booked ourselves for a guided day tour to view most of Eden Park's beauty. We were scheduled for our guided tour at 1:30 in the afternoon and we arrived 11:30 in the morning. Bringing in of foods is also not allowed but we opted to bring anyway BUT have to eat it outside the premises, so we ate it in the van parked somewhere adjacent to the park's main entrance.

On the area where we had our lunch was also the area where the Zipline, Horseback Riding, adult Indiana Jones and a small canteen is located. So to make use of the time, we took the liberty to ride the Indiana Jones and pose ourselves in front of the camera. LOL

Finally when the lunch break was over, we headed to the lobby and off to our tour. We had 3 stops, 5 mins each stop was allotted for picture taking. According to the tour guide, 95% of the entire park was man made except for the big bamboo trees we saw.

Anyway, enough words, here are some of the photos me and my friends took. I used some of their photos since my camera phone ran out of battery during the tour (oh yeah it sucks!) But it was still fun, their cameras were SLR so they had very good quality. (ehem Noreen, Cherry and Karen). :-)

This was during lunch break, after we had our lunch where we spent our time chatting on those logs. LOL as if we just went to Eden to chat. Karen and I were the only ones game for the jump shot! (Photo taken by Noreen)

Look how much fun Jerry was on the Indiana Jones! :-)
I took this photo using my camera phone and made few finishing touches. You can see cars parked above right? That's where we had our lunch.

And below are the photos taken during our tour.

This is what they call Rainbow Park. Obvious isn't it?! You see the arc with flowers just below the rainbow, the colors of the flowers are the exact color of that rainbow with the top being color red. (Photo either by Karen or Noreen. Lol sorry girls forgot who owns this)

This is the first time I saw this kind of errr, plant? or fruit? It was said to be a Mickey Mouse "Fruit" shall I say, correct me if I'm wrong but the tour guide said it wasn't meant to be eaten and just for display. Said it can be displayed for months without being rotten. I wasn't able to catch up, I just love looking at it with its two to three humps on its head part. hehehe (Photo taken by Karen)
This spot was one of my favorites! Who wouldn't love organic vegies served right in front of your table? Yup, you heard me right, these are organic and they serve it on their restaurant for their guests. Tried it after the tour and indeed yummy! (Photo taken by Cherry)

And lastly, my favorite photo of the day! I took this using my camera phone. I was just lucky I was able to capture her while she was trying to run away from me.

It was fun visiting Eden Nature Park. I know we missed a lot of exciting adventures. The day wasn't enough for us and was only suited for the guided day tour. There were lots of activities that any individual could do there. Maybe next time we can try fishing, trekking (the whole 8 hectares!), swimming on the pool, butterfly catching/watching (sadly it rained on that day so the butterflies weren't flying) and so many others.

I would like to see names rather than "anonymous". You can click on name/url and just leave the url blank if you don't have one. I would just want to give credit to anyone visiting my site and leaving comments. Thanks a bunch!
